Directions:
Prepare the Salisbury Steak:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Shape the mixture into 4-6 oval patties.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook until browned on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Mushroom Gravy:
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and chopped onion. Cook until the mushrooms are browned and the onion is softened, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Gradually add the beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Bring to a simmer and cook until the gravy thickens, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine and Serve:
Return the Salisbury steak patties to the skillet, spooning the mushroom gravy over the top.
Simmer for an additional 10 minutes, or until the patties are cooked through.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.
Servings: 4-6
