Homemade Chocolate Coconut Bars: A Delicious Treat
Instructions:
- Prepare the Coconut Filling:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract. Mix well to ensure the coconut is fully coated.
- Shape the coconut mixture into small rectangular bars and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Customize the size according to your preference.
- Chill the coconut bars in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm them up for easier chocolate coating.
- Melt the Chocolate:
- Create a water bath by placing the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Alternatively, melt the chocolate in the microwave in short intervals, stirring between each until fully melted.
- For a smoother chocolate coating, add coconut oil to the melted chocolate and mix well.
- Coat the Bars:
- Dip each chilled coconut bar into the melted chocolate using a fork. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing the coated bar back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Repeat the process for each bar, reheating the chocolate gently if it starts to solidify.
- Once all bars are coated, refrigerate the baking sheet to allow the chocolate to harden (15-20 minutes).
