1. Empty your trash regularly

3. Washing the bin after each emptying
Once the bin is empty, wash the inside of the bin with warm soapy water or a vinegar solution to remove any residue and odors.
4. Use baking soda or cat litter
Sprinkle baking soda or a layer of litter on the bottom of the bin – these absorb moisture and unpleasant odors, which discourages insects.
5. Store the basket in a cool place
Avoid keeping the trash can in sunny or warm places, where the larvae develop faster.
