2. Make the Shortbread Base:
– In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together the butter and granulated sugar for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
– Add the flour and salt, and mix until combined with no dry spots.
– Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish.
– Bake for 23-28 minutes, until light golden brown along the edges, the center appears dry, and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
– Let it cool completely.

3. Prepare the Caramel Filling:
– In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar, condensed milk, and corn syrup.
– Place over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
– After 5 minutes, remove from heat and continue stirring for 4 minutes until it cools down slightly.
– Pour the caramel evenly over the cooled shortbread base. Place in the freezer for two hours.

4. Make the Chocolate Topping:
– In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped chocolate and butter.
– Microwave at 15-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
– Spread the melted chocolate over the caramel layer.
– Place in the fridge for 2 hours to set.

5.Serve:
– Use the parchment paper to lift the bars from the baking dish.
– Cut into squares and sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
– Serve immediately and enjoy these decadent Millionaire Bars!
