Salisbury Steak with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Mushroom

1. Prepare the Steaks:
– In a large bowl, combine breadcrumbs, egg, grated onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
– Add the ground beef and mix until just combined. Form into 4-6 patties.
– In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
– Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

2. Make the Gravy:
– In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the sliced onions and cook until translucent.
– Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 2 minutes until golden.
– Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and onions, stirring to coat evenly. Cook for an additional minute.
– Gradually add the beef broth, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens and comes to a simmer.
– Add the cooked steak patties back into the skillet and simmer, uncovered, for 5 more minutes.

3. Make the Garlic Mashed Potatoes:
– Place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
– Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the minced garlic, milk, butter, salt, and pepper.
– Mash until smooth and creamy.

4. Serve:
– Plate the garlic mashed potatoes and top with the Salisbury steak.
– Spoon the mushroom and onion gravy over the steak and mashed potatoes.
– Serve warm and enjoy!
