Empty the trash can.
Pour boiling water and dish soap over the inside of the basket.
Wash thoroughly with a sponge or brush and rinse with clean water.
Method 2: White vinegar and baking soda

How to do it:
Sprinkle baking soda on the bottom of the basket.
Spray the inside of the basket with vinegar and let it sit for 10 minutes.
